Gabrielle was on her way to law school when she was approached about becoming a model. She took it on believing it to be the best way to pay for her education. She was later offered acting roles which she also accepted as a means to pay for school. After receiving her degree in sociology she gave up school for the glamorous life, as she found she enjoyed the acting. She has put in a significant amount of time in television and more recently has firmly established herself as a leading lady on the big screen. She has been named in Maxim's top 100 sexiest women in 2002 & 2007. Additionally, she is an activist for violent crimes against women, having survived rape at gunpoint at the age of 19.
